Tide Hours privacy policy
Tide Hours collects no data about you. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected. This page explains what the app does with the little it touches.
What the app collects
Nothing. Tide Hours has no account, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party code. It does not track you across apps or websites, and it makes no network requests for tide data: predictions are computed on your iPhone from data that ships with the app.
Location
Tide Hours asks for your location only when you tap Near Me. It uses that location once, on your iPhone, to list the closest stations, and then discards it. Your location is never stored and never sent anywhere.
What stays on your iPhone
Your favorite stations, your choice of feet or meters, and whether you have bought the unlock are saved in one small file on your iPhone, shared only with the app's own widgets. Deleting the app deletes it.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; I never see your payment details or your Apple Account.
Tide data and its limits
Predictions are computed from NOAA CO-OPS harmonic constants, datums and station offsets (U.S. Government data, public domain). Tide Hours is not a NOAA product and is not endorsed by NOAA. Predictions are not observed water levels and are not for navigation.
This website
This policy covers the Tide Hours app. Visiting chelseakr.com, including this page, is covered by the site's own privacy page.
